Empower Youth Development Center
To provide a haven for all young women who seek help. the goal of this program is to build the confidence of every individual and ensure their personal growth to become successful, both in their career and personally.
Preliminary
Mental health has been an issue teen’s have struggled with for a very long time, not until recently it has been an issue that is taken a lot more seriously and with more importance. The present study analyzes the similarities amongst youth that disclose mental health issues or students that do not experience issues with their mental health. Information captured through the study gives greater feedback as it is mostly short answer gives accurate insight on how they feel about their surroundings as well as how they get along with their fellow youth. Questions asked in an online anonymous survey forces the participants to ponder about there daily lives which can be something youth typically don’t do as they feel like they have no purpose or responsibility. Results show that almost all youth do experience mental health issues in one form or another while being able to hide in plain sight that everything seems to be totally fine. As these results vary from each participant it is important to design for all, promoting mindfulness and wellness. Therefore, providing youth an uplifting escape where they are able to cope with the difficult feelings, emotions, and thoughts they might be struggling with. Thus, designing a center and hub for youth that focuses on stimulating the mind, body, and spiritual side of each individual participant.
