Thesis Project

Your Workshare

Your Workshare is a co-working office that is dedicated to inspiring a new design standard by creating a sensory-friendly workplace that strives to be versatile, transparent, and calming. Its goal is to provide a safe and comfortable work environment for adults who struggle with sensory processing, by offering clearly designated spaces in an open-concept design.

Preliminary

This thesis project is based on discovering how to adapt to a physical environment to reduce sensory overload in adults. The project will also touch on what physical aspects cause sensory overload to find out how a space can affect a person's senses. This will provide answers to designers and accommodate individuals with sensory issues through the built environment. The goal is to create a non-intimidating workshare space, with different amenities that support all types of sensory-sensitive individuals. The main attraction of Your Workshare Studio is the rain room, a restorative feature that provides an immersive sensory experience to help occupants focus and relax.
